Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking

Day 1: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (KTM) Kathmandu

You may arrive at Kathmandu at any time. Our airport representative will greet you and helps you to check in your trip hotel. He will explain the program further. There are no planned activities for the day. Enjoy your overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Kathmandu to Pokhara (910m) Duration: 6 hours’ drive.

Your guide will pick you up at the hotel at 6:30 AM. He will escort you to the bus station. The tourist bus to Pokhara leaves at around 7:30am. The scenery along the road is dramatic. You can see the river, valleys, cascading rice terraces and rocky gorges. Upon arrival, check in hotel. In the evening, you may enjoy leisure boating on the scenic Phewa Lake. You can see the reflection of the Mount Machhapuchhre and Annapurna Range on the crystal clear water of the Lake. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Pokhara to Tikhedhunga (1570m) Duration: 1 hour drive and 4 hour walking

You will drive to Nayapul, from where the trek commence. It takes about an hour drive on a private vehicle to reach Nayapul. After a short 15-minute walk along the banks of the Modi Khola, we reach Birethanti (1,015m).  Birethanti is a large village with many shops and teahouses. From here, the trail continues through the village. We follows the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola.  The trail ascends steadily up the side of the valley to Hille at 1,495m. After a short climb, we reach Tikhedhunga at 1,570m. Today’s walk is relatively easy and short, a preparation to the trekking experience in the Annapurna region. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 4: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2850m) Duration: 7-8 hours walking.

We begin a day by crossing a stream on a suspension bridge near the camp site at Tikhe Dhunga.  The trail climbs a steep stone staircase (which has about 3300 steps). We then reach to the large Magar village of Ulleri at 2080m. Above the village, the trail ascends gently through cultivated fields and pastures. After a one hour’s walk above Ulleri, there is a camp site for a rest and water stop. The trail crosses two sparkling streams before making a short, final climb to Nangethanti. In Nangethanti, we will do our lunch. Thanti is a Nepali word meaning “rest house”. Thanti is a Nepali word meaning “rest house”. The trail will be covered by snow in the winter season. From Nangethanti we will climb to Ghorepani at 2850m. Ghorepani offers the spectacular panorama of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Nilgiri (6940m) Annapurna I (8091m) Hiunchuli (6441m) and more. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 5: Hike up to Poon Hill (3210m) and onto Tadapani (2610m) Duration: 7 hours walking

Today, we will get up early and hike to Poon Hill (3210m). Poon Hill is a vantage point from where you can see a superb view of the sunrise and a panoramic view of the Himalaya, including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fishtail, and others. After catching a beautiful scene in your memory and camera, we will come back to Ghorepani. We will do our breakfast. We then continue walking to Tadapani. Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 6: Tadapani to Pokhara (910m) Duration: 4 hours walking and 2 hours’ drive

From Tadapani the trail descends through forests to Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a village of Gurung people, one of the ethnic groups of Nepal. The trail from Ghandruk is easy walk all downhill to Kimche. We then drive to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Pokhara to Kathmandu (1337m) Duration: 6 hours’ drive

Scenic drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Farewell

A representative from Visit View Nepal Treks will take you to the airport approx. 3 hours before the scheduled flight.

Similarly, multiple-entry tourist visas for 90 days can be obtained by paying US $ 100. Please bring 2 copies of passport-size photos.)
