Kathmandu and Pokhara Tour

Day 1: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu

You may arrive at the airport at any time and upon your arrival, you will be greeted and welcomed by one of Visit View Nepal Treks representatives. He will help you get transferred to the hotel and will explain further programs to you. You have a leisure time for the day, thus you may check into the hotel and relax for the remainder of time. Day 2: Kathmandu City Tour and visit to Patan

The tour of Kathmandu city will begin at around 8:00 AM in the morning. A brief meeting of what the tour will be about and basic information will be conveyed by one of our representatives, before the tour. The tour guide will also be introduced. Different sites and locations around the city will be visited, via a private vehicle. The visit includes Kathmandu’s World Heritage Sites of the Kathmandu Durbar Square, the Pashupatinath temple, the Swayambhunath Stupa and the Bouddhanath Stupa. Additionally, the Patan Durbar Square will also be visited. Both the Durbar Squares of Kathmandu and Patan are complexes that contain various buildings and temples that are the remnants of Nepal’s medieval times. Similarly, it also showcase amazing artistic brilliance like stone sculptures and wood-carvings and masonries done on the doors, windows and pillars of the buildings. They also contain courtyards and old Palaces of the Malla and the Shah Kings.

The Pashupatinath Temple, is a most admired sacred site pertaining to the Hindu people of the country, which lies right beside the bank of the holy Bagmati River. Sometimes, cremation ceremony of the Hindu people can also be observed here. The Swayambhunath Stupa is situated atop a hill which is commonly known as “the Monkey Temple” because of vast amount of monkeys that live there. And lastly, the Bouddhanath Stupa is a holy site pertaining to the Buddhist people which is the largest Buddhist Mandala in the world. It is visited by many Buddhist pilgrims from all over the world. Day 3: Fly to Pokhara and Pokhara Sight-seeing Tour, Duration: 30 minutes

Early morning, you will take a flight to the lake side city of Pokhara which takes about 30 minutes to reach there. Upon your arrival, you will be check-in to your hotel. At 11:00 AM, the sight-seeing tour of the city will start. The places you will visit today are the Bindabasini temple, the Gupteshwor cave, the Davis fall, the Seti River Gorge and finally boating on the pristine Phewa Lake and visiting the temple of Taal Barahi. The Bindabasini temple is dedicated to the Goddess Bhagwati which is located in the centre of the religious old bazaar in the city. The Davis fall “the Patale Chhango” is located in the southern flank of the Pokhara valley, is perhaps one of the most famous waterfalls in the country. The waterfall has water collapsing and falling through many gorges in the rocks below leaping along many rocky portals while doing so.

The admired Gupteshwor Cave is situated 2 km away from the Pokhara airport and the entrance to the cave is right across from Davis fall which is almost 3 km long. Exploring the cave with some big hall-sized rooms and some passages, is also sometimes an adventure where you have to crawl on all four. Since a phallic symbol of Lord Shiva is preserved here in the same condition as when it was discovered, this cave holds special value to the Hindus. The next is the Seti Gorge. It is one of the most amazing natural wonders of Pokhara which is carved by the Seti-Gandaki River. And finally, at the end of the tour, you will be boating on the tranquil Phewa Lake. The Phewa is the second largest lake in Nepal, which is situated at an altitude of 800 metres. It is the most important religious place in Pokhara with the Barahi Island Temple in the middle of the lake. This two-storied pagoda is dedicated to the female force Shakti. The reflection of mount Annapurna and Machhapuchre can also be seen in its serene waters. The thick pine forest on the adjoining southern slopes of the lake is also quite haunting. Day 4: Fly back to Kathmandu, Duration: 30 Minutes.

Today, you will fly back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to the hotel. You can stroll along the streets of Kathmandu for some last-minute shopping at day time and the evening time. You will also be treated with a farewell dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurant with cultural performances. Overnight stay at a 5-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 5: Farewell

Approximately three hours before your scheduled flight, you will be transferred to the airport by one of Visit View Nepal Treks representatives from where you will depart.
